We have a chance to take one step each day that allows our voice to be heard and our actions to be seen in our community. Showing up at the beach does not count. Steve Lopez says it right in the LA Times editorial today, "the sand, waves and sun are not worth people's lives."
There are other actions you can take right now to stay at home and support the health and well-being of all of us. With Covid-19, I am sure many are tired of waiting. Governor Newsom rightly stated, "the virus doesn't take the weekend off." Don't give up on your future self.
Sam Durant, a contemporary American artist so vividly communicates in his The Art of Dialogue sign at LACMA, the impatience we have as humans. Yes, I am tired of this too yet I believe our actions seriously matter for the health of all of us.
Ask yourself this, what can you do today that your future self (your future family) will appreciate?
What is the one act each day that will accumulate and with dedication allow us all in a united front to face the virus spread and then with joy be here for our families?
