“The cobbler’s children have no shoes!” Ever hear the expression? By their nature, HR professionals dedicate their careers to taking care of the needs of others (training needs, development needs, helping to ensure job engagement and satisfaction, etc.). Unfortunately, they sometimes do so at the expense of their own needs. We’ve even coined a tongue-in-cheek phrase for this: CCS (cobbler’s children syndrome).
